Terms of use
Last updated November 2026.
1. Who we are
DocMath ("the site") is owned and operated by Mahmoud Omar, MD ("the owner"). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
2. Intended use
DocMath is a reference tool for licensed health professionals. It provides clinical decision support and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Results must be interpreted by a qualified professional together with the full clinical picture and current guidelines. The site is not intended for use by patients or the public to make health decisions.
Guideline notes shown with results are brief, simplified summaries of published recommendations, with their sources. They may omit conditions, exceptions or contraindications, may not reflect guidance issued after their last review, and may not suit an individual patient. They are not instructions to treat. The treating clinician remains solely responsible for every assessment and decision, and should consult the full guideline, local protocols and specialist advice as needed.
3. Copyright and ownership
© 2026 Mahmoud Omar, MD. All rights reserved. The DocMath software (including its source code), user interface, visual design, logo, icons, text, explanatory content, and the selection, arrangement and presentation of its calculators are original works owned by the owner and protected under the Copyright Act (R.S.C. 1985, c. C-42) and international copyright treaties. DocMath is registered with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, Copyright Registration No. 1251759. A certificate of registration is evidence that copyright subsists in the work and that the owner holds it (Copyright Act, s. 53(2)).
Published clinical formulas, equations and scoring systems remain the work of their original authors, who are cited on each calculator. DocMath claims no ownership of them.
4. What you may and may not do
You may use the site for your own professional and educational purposes, including at the point of care. Without the owner's prior written permission you may not: copy, reproduce, republish or redistribute the site or any substantial part of it; copy its source code, design or content into another website, app or product; scrape, crawl or systematically extract its content; frame or mirror the site; remove or alter any copyright notice; or use the site or its content for any commercial purpose.
5. Suggestions
If you send a suggestion, you grant the owner a free, perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use it to evaluate, develop and publish calculators, without payment or obligation to you. Do not send confidential information or any patient information.
6. No warranty
Formulas are taken from their original publications and tested, but the site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. Always verify results that will influence patient care.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the owner is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or other loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the site or its results, including clinical decisions made with it.
8. Changes
The owner may update these terms, the calculators or the site at any time. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the federal laws of Canada and the laws of the Canadian province or territory in which the owner resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute shall be brought before the courts of Canada having jurisdiction in that province or territory.
10. Contact and permissions
Requests for permission, and any questions about these terms, can be sent through the contact form.
Privacy statement

DocMath handles personal information in line with the fair information principles of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Mahmoud Omar, MD is accountable for personal information under DocMath's control.
Calculators: nothing collected
Calculations run entirely on your device. Values you enter into a calculator are never stored, sent or seen by us, and are cleared when you leave the page. Do not enter patient names or other identifying information.
Suggestion form
If you use the "Suggest a formula" form, we collect what you type: the suggestion, and optionally your name and email address. We use it only to review your suggestion and, if you gave an email, to reply. We do not sell, rent or share it, and we do not use it for marketing. Submissions are deleted once reviewed, and kept no longer than 12 months.
Where information is stored
DocMath is hosted by Netlify, Inc., a service provider in the United States. Form submissions and standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type, kept by the host for security and operations) are processed and stored there, and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of the United States under its laws.
On your device
The site stores your favorites and two settings (so the copyright notice is not shown again, and whether you chose AI match) in your browser. It does not keep offline copies of itself, and uses no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies.
Optional AI match
If you choose "Try AI match", your browser downloads a small open-source language model (all-MiniLM-L6-v2) and its software library, about 45 MB in total, directly from docmath.ca, and keeps them so they need not be downloaded again. After you choose it once, later multi-word searches use AI match automatically. No other website is involved. The model runs entirely on your device: the text you type is not sent to us or to anyone else.
Safeguards and breaches
We collect as little as possible, and access to submissions is limited to the owner's account. If a breach of security safeguards involving your personal information creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by law.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct or delete personal information you have sent us, or withdraw consent, through the contact form. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
